Movie Production Camp

Learn filmmaking by editing a short film. Starting with multiple professionally shot clips, students will edit two complete scenes comprised of over 90 clips. Video and Film these days involve a lot of post-production work to create the incredible visual experiences we enjoy today. Building on students existing knowledge of the basic principles of filmmaking in this course students hit the ground running, beginning with a rapid short narrative project that they complete during the first day of the course. Students then learn about title design and basic visual effects or VFX with Davinci Resolve before launching into their second short film project. Students will learn how to use a green screen effectively. Additionally, students will gain a basic knowledge of sound design for video and film production with Davinci Resolve. Film projects can be in a range of genres including narrative, music video, documentary, feature and more.

Building on students existing knowledge of the basic principles of filmmaking in this course students hit the ground running, beginning with a rapid short narrative project that they complete during the first day of the course. Students then learn about title design and basic visual effects or VFX with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects, before launching into their second short film project. Students will learn how to use a green screen effectively. Additionally, students will gain a basic knowledge of sound design for video and film production with Adobe Premiere Pro. Film projects can be in a range of genres including narrative, music video, documentary, feature and more. This course is one of our flagship Tech Camp experiences, infused with hands-on, project-based learning, designed to equip students with 21st-century technology skills. Students will engage in real-world problem solving and collaborate with fellow students to create solutions to some of the world’s biggest problems.

DSLR Camera (or mobile phone/tablet) for photo capture and a method for downloading footage from your camera onto your computer.
Canon Rebel T7i DSLR camera kit (optional)
Camera tripod (optional)
SD card with minimum 64GB and 90mb/s or higher read/write speed (optional)
Audio kit (microphone, cables, extension pole) compatible with camera (optional)
Green screen (optional) Reflector (optional)
